Researchers from the University of Exeter would love to hear from you! Online interviews (40-60 minutes) exploring Transgender individuals’ experiences with and perspectives on cisgender LGB+ Trans-activism. £15 vouchers available!

As part of a broader research project investigating cisgender LGB+ individuals’ motivations (or lack of motivation) to engage in Trans activism. This comes under our research teams’ broader aims of better understanding how to increase these motivations, and foster greater LGBTQ+ cohesion and inclusivity, during what is an incredibly divisive and volatile socio-political time for Transgender rights.

As well as conducting several longitudinal and experimental studies, we are now recruiting for a qualitative interview study exploring Trans adults (18+) lived experiences with and perspectives on receiving support from non-Trans members of the broader LGBTQ+ community (i.e., cisgender sexual minorities or LGB+ individuals). This study will be used to inform and guide my experimental and longitudinal work looking at how to foster greater support for the Transgender community among cisgender sexual minorities. The planned study has received full ethical clearance from the University of Exeter’s ethics committee and will be conducted online (via Zoom). The interviews will take approximately 40-60 minutes, and I will be paying participants for their time with a $15 voucher.

Since the research team is based in the UK, our ethical approval system is a little different. This project has gone through and been reviewed and approved by the University of Exeter's Psychology research ethics council. This is the standard process for research studies in the UK. I am more than happy to share documentation regarding the approval status of this project.
