Sexual Health Among Young adults Diagnosed with cancer: An Exploratory Study
Overview:
The purpose of this study is to explore the sexual and mental health needs of young adults with a history of cancer through the utilization of 60 in-depth interviews, among 30 young adults with a history of cancer. The interviews will assist in determining: 1). How are young adults with a history of cancer communicated regarding their mental health and sexual health care needs and by whom, particularly when it comes to the Human Papillomavirus (HPV). 2). If young adults with a history of cancer feel efficacious in preventing STIs and HIV as well as HPV in order to reduce the numerous associated cancers, and 3). How can technology be used to help young adults with a history of cancer improve their knowledge of sexual health, family planning, and reduce exposure to HPV through unprotected sex and improve HPV vaccine uptake.
