Trans Experiences in Higher Education
Overview:
Students enrolled in the class “Qualitative Research Methods in Public Health” at Santa Clara University are recruiting transgender and gender diverse (TGD) peers to participate in individual interviews. Under the direction of Dr. Paul Gilbert, Associate Professor in the Department of Public Health, the class is undertaking a research project to learn how colleges and universities support—or fail to support—their TGD students. In addition, we would like to learn what TGD students are doing in response to recent social and political challenges. Each interview will take place on Zoom, and we anticipate it lasting 30-45 minutes. To be eligible to participate, folx must be age 18 years or older, currently enrolled in a college or university, and identify as transgender or gender diverse (i.e., not cisgender).
