The Double-Edged Screen: Media Influence and Parasocial Suicide Exposure Among LGBTQIA+ Adults
Overview:
Hello, my name is Michelle Dalton, and I am a faculty member and researcher in the Social Determinants and Minority Stress lab in the Department of Family and Community Medicine at Saint Louis University. I am conducting an online study on the impact of different experiences LGBTQIA+ adults have regarding parasocial or online exposure to deaths by suicide to better understand how these deaths impact behaviors with the hope to improve mental health care.
To be eligible for the study, participants must:
- Participants must self-identify as a member of the LGBTQIA+ community
- Participants must be at least 18 years old or older.
- Participants must reside in the United States.
- The research study is an online study that will take approximately 30-45 minutes to complete. Participation in this study is completely voluntary.
