Gender-Affirming Surgical Care Research Survey
Overview:
This IRB-approved research study, led by Dr. Melih Sifil and the Division of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at Stanford University, aims to better understand the lived experiences of individuals who have received, are seeking, or are considering gender-affirming care. The goal is to identify barriers, disparities, and meaningful outcomes associated with different forms of care, including but not limited to surgical interventions.
Grounded in a commitment to equitable and inclusive healthcare, the study invites transgender and gender-diverse individuals aged 18 and older to participate in a brief, anonymous survey.
The survey is hosted on a HIPAA-compliant platform and does not collect any personal identifiers or IP addresses.
Findings from this study will contribute to efforts to improve access to affirming, patient-centered medical and surgical care, and to inform clinical practices, institutional policies, and broader healthcare systems.
Participants’ insights are invaluable in shaping a more inclusive and responsive healthcare landscape for gender-diverse populations.
