Interview Opportunity: Understand cancer screening and treatment experiences among trans and nonbinary adults of color in relation to gender-affirming care and HIV care
Overview:
The Transgender and Nonbinary Collective in Research Equity from Washington (TNB-CREW) is a group of Washington-based trans researchers, educators, students, and community members who are committed to advancing trans health across multiple domains, including health disparities, access to care, policy, and social justice through research and practice. “Gender Affirming Integration of HIV and Cancer Healthcare among Transgender and Nonbinary (Trans) People of Color” is a qualitative project intended to explore social determinants of healthcare inequities among trans populations of color to guide HIV, gender-affirming care, and cancer prevention intervention efforts.
We would like to understand: how to best integrate these efforts to meet the needs of trans adults, and to address personal, social, environmental, structural, and economic factors that impact the use of these services to improve delivery.
We are looking to recruit:
- 30 transfeminine, transmasculine, and nonbinary individuals of color who have experience with navigating cancer screening and treatment services across the United States.
- We are also looking to conduct interviews with 10 providers and other healthcare workers who engage with trans patients in cancer prevention and treatment.
Interviews will take place via Zoom. Individuals will receive a $50 electronic gift card for participation.
