Study Assessing Knowledge Gaps Regarding Transgender/Gender-Diverse Patients’ Healthcare Guidelines

Overview:

The study is an IRB-approved cross-sectional survey aimed at identifying knowledge gaps among healthcare providers, specifically urogynecologists, regarding transgender and gender-diverse (TGD) patient care. Our goal is to assess current understanding, practices, and challenges related to TGD healthcare in urogynecology. By analyzing these knowledge gaps, we hope to guide the development of future educational resources to improve care equity for TGD patients.

Target Audience:

We’re focusing on urogynecologists, but are also inviting general gynecologists, as they are often the first point of contact for many TGD patients seeking gynecologic care. This will give us a well-rounded view of existing knowledge across different specialties.

Sample Size:

Our aim is to reach a sample size of approximately 200-300 respondents to ensure statistical significance and broad representation. We welcome responses from all levels of experience to capture diverse perspectives, including practitioners who may not have received TGD healthcare training in their initial education.

Demographics Collected:

The survey will capture basic demographics, such as age, clinical practice type, credentials, and years in practice. This will help us analyze knowledge gaps across different practitioner profiles and adjust educational initiatives accordingly.

Once compiled, the survey results will be shared in summary form to help guide discussions on enhancing TGD healthcare training and support among healthcare professionals. Please let me know if there is any further information that would be helpful.
