Student/Trainee Scholarship
The Student/Trainee Scholarship Application has closed.
This year, the 37th GLMA Annual Conference on LGBTQ Health will be held in New Orleans from September 11-14,2019! GLMA is committed to ensuring students and trainees—from across the health professions—are able to attend the Annual Conference. Therefore, we are able to provide a limited number of scholarships to help offset the cost of attending.
Scholarship recipients will have their conference registration fee waived. In exchange for the scholarship, recipients are required to assist with conference duties – usually serving as a monitor during workshop or plenary sessions, staffing the registration desk, or similar tasks – for up to six hours during the conference.
Students interested in and/or selected for working the GLMA Nursing Summit may require an additional time commitment of 1-2 hours on the day of the Summit. Please note: Applicants will be notified of scholarship decisions before the end of Early Bird Registration. Please note, students selected will be required to register for the Annual Conference as a Student Scholarship Recipient, and submit a refundable $50 deposit. The deposit is to ensure completion of all conference duties on site, and will be refunded after the conclusion of the Annual Conference. Should selected students fail to fulfill their responsibilities, they will be charged a full student/trainee conference registration (minus initial deposit). In addition, student scholarship recipients who sign up for reduced rate hotel rooms (if available) will be responsible for all room charges once reservations are made on their behalf.
