Spread the Word about ACA Open Enrollment
Thanks to the Affordable Care Act, the uninsured rate for low- and middle-income LGBTQ people has dropped by an overwhelming 35%. More LGBTQ people have health insurance than ever before—and that means access to healthcare we need, from life-saving HIV drugs to gender-affirming healthcare.
Despite sabotage from the current administration, the Affordable Care Act is as strong as ever!
There are more options and big discounts on health insurance. Nearly 9 in 10 enrollees qualify for savings. This year, 1 in 3 enrollees will find a plan for $10/month or less. Even better, you can still expect to be treated fairly and protected from discrimination in health insurance AND healthcare.
What do your patients and clients
need to know?
- Healthcare.gov is open for business on November 1st. The FINAL DEADLINE to enroll in health insurance is December 15th. If you do not enroll during this time, you may be locked out of health insurance until 2021.
- You can get free help from an LGBTQ-friendly assister. Make an appointment today.
- HealthCare.gov is the only place to get financial help and comprehensive coverage. Don’t get duped by a junk plan. Get your insurance through HealthCare.gov to get the financial protection you need.
What should you do next? Two simple things.
First, make sure your patients, clients, family and friends have health insurance—if not, direct them to HealthCare.gov now to find an affordable and comprehensive plan that fits their needs.
Second, spread the word! It’s on each of us to get the word out about the December 15th deadline. Share GLMA's Facebook post, retweet the message, forward this email, and make sure everyone is insured.
Don’t forget—the LAST DAY to enroll in health insurance is December 15th. Let’s take pride in our health and make sure we all #GetCovered.
