10th GLMA Annual Nursing Summit Now Seeking Nominations for the Local Champion Award! GLMA's annual daylong Nursing Summit will take place on Wednesday, October 19, 2022. This year, we celebrate our 10th pre-conference Nursing Summit. It is a reprieve and a joy to come together with other like-minded and simultaneously diverse colleagues. Such an empowering and moving experience every year." - 9th GLMA Annual Nursing Summit attendee Nursing CE will be available. Goal The goal of the 10th GLMA Annual Nursing Summit is to build an inclusive home to foster capacity building for LGBTQ nurses, nurse allies and nurse supporters. The summit provides a forum for mentorship, support, networking and education to promote health equity among LGBTQ individuals. Areas of focus include, but are not limited to, research, leadership, education and training, policy and activism, workplace climate, and patient care among diverse groups of LGBTQ persons. Follow the instructions on our registration page to register through the same portal as Annual Conference registration. We advise that anyone who has submitted an abstract for Nursing Summit consideration does not register until you have received notification of your abstract acceptance status in mid-June. Speaker rates for the Summit and the Conference will only become available after abstract decisions have been shared. The Local Champion Award The GLMA Nursing Section's Local Champion Award is given each year to an individual, group, or institution working within or on behalf of the local LGBTQ community of the host city for the GLMA Annual Conference. As we return to San Francisco for the 10th GLMA Nursing Summit, we are seeking nominations for Bay Area award recipients. Please use this form to nominate individuals, groups, or institutions by Monday, June 6 at 11:59 PM ET. The GLMA Nursing Section The Nursing Summit is developed by GLMA Nursing Section. Created in 2014, the GLMA Nursing Section aims to be a professional home for LGBTQ nurses and fill a critical need in the professional association landscape by providing a focal point for advocacy on LGBTQ nursing issues.
