GLMA has become a program champion of All of Us Research Program, a new undertaking of the National Institutes of Health that seeks to speed up health research breakthroughs and advance precision medicine for Americans of all backgrounds. The program hopes to recruit over one million study partners who will share information about their health, environment and lifestyle over time. This data will be collected and preserved, and eventually, researchers will have broad access to study this data in order to make new discoveries and advances in medical treatment and disease prevention! It is the program’s hope that the participants will reflect the rich diversity of America, encompassing people of all races, ethnicities, age groups, gender identities, sexual orientations, and health statuses. GLMA fully supports the mission and goals of All of Us, and understands the vast implications and positive impact of this study in the years to come. Moreover, GLMA will spread the word of All of Us to the LGBTQ community to ensure LGBTQ people are well represented in this program! Join GLMA on Sunday, May 6th for the National Launch of the All of Us Research Program! On this day, people ages 18 and older, regardless of health status, will be able to enroll as a study partner.
