Centering the Unique Health Needs of LGBTQ+ Communities in Continuing Education

Educating current and future health professionals on the latest in LGBTQ+ health is key to GLMA's mission of ensuring health equity for all LGBTQ+ people and equality for LGBTQ+ health professionals in their work and learning environments.

Our Education Committee works to provide high-quality practice-changing continuing medical education, applicable to diverse audiences and health professions. Through programs like the Amplify fund, GLMA actively seeks to uplift the voices of historically-excluded communities such as BIPOC gender diverse/two-spirit people, intersex people, refugees/new migrants, and indiqueer people. Our goal is to center the most marginalized in our health professional educational content.

GLMA also works to educate and empower LGBTQ+ patients. Through our provider directory, resources, and patient-oriented Top 10s, we assist LGBTQ+ patients along every step of the healthcare journey: from finding a LGBTQ+ friendly provider to knowing what to ask.
